What we say:

At A Glance

Dating back to 1958, the Gibson ES-335 set a high standard with what has become an iconic design. This model takes its cues from the original but has updated it with some modern features that deliver superb tone and quality. A Rounded C mahogany neck is a comfortable and faithful historic touch. The T-Type pickups give a slightly different tonal flavour but maintain a sound that we all know and love. As you would expect from Gibson, the build quality is impressive and the Satin finish gives an understated yet classy look. The ES-335 has been the choice of many musicians over the years and continues to be favoured by many.

Features We Love:

Gibson T-Type Pickups

A pair of Calibrated T-Type pickups deliver a superb variety of humbucker sounds. Based on the old 'T-Top' pickups, these are a welcomed addition due to the high popularity of the originals. More modern sounding than the PAF, they deliver a classic sound with a touch of the contemporary.

Vintage Deluxe Tuners

The tuners look great with the keystone buttons but more importantly, they perform to a high standard. The tuning stability is impressive and along with the aluminium bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, intonation is accurate.

Dot Inlay

The dot inlay is a classic look. The simplicity of the design allows the player to locate the desired fret position with ease while still showcasing the rosewood fingerboard in full glory.

Pros:

  • Gibson build quality
  • Classic design with some modern features for greater tone
  • Great example of a beautifully made ES guitar

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (3 reviews)

I have owned and played more than a few 335s, but when I got this Gibson in my hands, there was something very special about it. The tones, the clarity, the versatility and the mojo! It's all there. I have not heard the T-Type pickups before but they seem perfect for this guitar, lots of tones can be had, great range. I chose the satin finish, ...well after playing it and falling in love, I couldn't see what paying the extra many hundreds of pounds for the gloss version would achieve. I just love the sound and feel of this one! The neck of the satin model is also not glossy, which is great for extended sessions or gigs. Some pros like to sand down their necks for this reason. I chose the sunburst version, and like the way the wood grain shows through the finish.
