The short scale length is a bigger contributor to the sound than most realise. While the shorter scale is favoured by smaller players, it's also preferred by many for the strong defining tone the short scale bass is known for.

Short Scale Length
The short scale length on this model has a few advantages. The first of which being slightly more obvious, it's great for smaller players. The second is that a shorter scale will provide a fundamental tone the short scale bass has earned a name for. Another advantage is that it lessens the jump for guitarists trying their hand at bass duties. The jump from a typical 25.5" guitar to a 34" bass is considerably reduced making things feel more natural to a six string aficionado!
SG Style
The SG body shape has become a thing of legend and a continual feature in Rock music since its release. Today, it still stands proud alongside every other model that has come and gone over the years. One thing's for sure, the SG is going nowhere!
'Rounded' Neck Profile
This model benefits from Gibson's 'Rounded' neck shape which is slightly larger and sits nicely in your hand while you play. Offering access to the whole fretboard, the 'Rounded' shape continues to offer comfort over extended sessions where slimmer necks may not.
