About Fender Offset

The Fender Offset range conists of the Mustang and Duo Sonic guitars in addition to their bass counterparts. These guitars are known as 'offset' because their body shapes are non-symmetrical and have something of a 'leaning' direction to them.

Both the Mustang and the Duo Sonic are short scale guitars. They were originally intended for students to learn on and the scale length of both is 24", an inch and a half shorter than Fender's standard scale length. This change makes these guitars extremely easy to play.

Why Should I Choose a Fender Offset Guitar?

  • Authentic Fender design
  • Shorter scale is very comfortable to play
  • A great option for smaller players

Frequently Asked Questions about Fender Offset

Question: Are these Offset Fenders new designs?
Technically yes, though they are more like revisions of classic models. Both the Mustang and the Duo Sonic have existed in various forms since the 60s. The Fender Offset Series combines the most up to date versions of these classic designs.
Question: Are Fender's Offset Series guitars for beginners?
No. Whilst it is true that the Duo Sonic and the Mustang were introduced by Fender as student models, lots of experienced and pro players quickly caught onto the quality and began using them. Today they are seen as equals to the other Fender models.
Question: What type of necks do these Offset guitars have?
The Offset series share the same type of neck. This is a modern C profile with a 9.5" radius fingerboard and medium jumbo frets. This concession to modernity makes these retro-styled instruments particularly easy to play.
