Gem Archer, the versatile guitarist from Oasis, Beady Eye, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, is known, in part, for using an Epiphone Sheraton™, which Noel gifted to him. Now, Epiphone is proud to introduce the Masterbilt Gem Archer Sheraton, a new artist model based on that original Sheraton that Gem still regularly uses. The Sheraton is an original Epiphone design that was first introduced in 1958. This Masterbilt semi-hollowbody guitar, with its distinctive and elegant styling, represents the highest standards of build and componentry for Epiphone. The Masterbilt Gem Archer Sheraton is built to the same standards as our Inspired by Gibson Custom models and includes the same etched Double Diamond on the headstock rear that can be found on those instruments.
The Masterbilt Gem Archer Sheraton features a semi-hollowbody, 5-ply layered maple/poplar body with a maple centerblock for added sustain and improved feedback resistance. The body’s top and back are multi-ply bound, as are the headstock and fretboard. The one-piece mahogany neck has a comfortable 60s C profile and is topped with a rosewood fretboard that is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and adorned with attractive mother-of-pearl block and abalone triangle inlays. The large, 60s-style Sloped Dovewing headstock has the historic Epiphone logo and Tree of Life inlaid in mother of pearl. All of the hardware on this Sheraton is gold, while the finish is a beautiful Vintage Gloss.
The headstock is equipped with smooth-turning Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines with Milk Bottle buttons, which, along with the low-friction Graph Tech® nut, help to keep the guitar solidly in tune. An ABR-1 bridge and Casino™-style raised diamond trapeze tailpiece hold the strings down at the other end. The electronics are first-rate, consisting of a pair of USA-made Gibson Mini Humbucker™ pickups paired with individual volume and tone controls that utilize high-quality CTS® potentiometers and Mallory™ capacitors and routed through a Switchcraft® three-way pickup selector toggle switch and 1/4” output jack. An Epiphone hardshell case completes the package and helps to keep this beautiful guitar safe when you're traveling to your next performance.
