About Yamaha Red Label
Yamaha Red Label are a modern series range of acoustic guitars, inspired by a classic, Yamaha's well-loved original "Red Label" guitars that were first made in Japan in 1966. Yamaha Red Label blends, up-to-date features and craftsmanship with the iconic 1960s aesthetics and traditional style. Red Label guitars bring powerful vintage tone, high-quality components and all-solid construction in beautifully built instruments.
The mahogany back and sides are paired with a premium sitka spruce top which provide genuine aged-wood tone and sustain, due to Yamaha's modern A.R.E (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process. This A.R.E treatment uses pressure and heat to mature new wood to give a rich, smooth vintage, played-in sound, straight out of the box. A new scalloped bracing pattern is used in the Yamaha Red Labels for a louder, more balanced tone to the originals, which was intended to be suited for the modern songwriter, optimizing natural characteristics of the tonewoods and providing warm tone.
Yamaha Red Label offers two main models, the FG and the FS. The FG (Folk Guitar) is a larger dreadnought shape, great for loud projection and strumming while the FS (Folk Small) is a smaller concert/OM shape, providing comfortable playability, good mid-range and suited for finger picking style. The electro-acoustic models feature the atmosfeel pickup and preamp system, great for amplified loud, yet natural sound. With its intuitive design, it is simple to blend controls to fine tune to your preferred sound.
