Electro Harmonix Nano Big Muff Fuzz

For such a diminutive little box this packs a great range of classic ‘MUFF’ sounds. Absolute bargain and easy to find space for on the board because of its size.

Great sound in a quality pedal at a low price. Many tonal options. I'm a big fan of Jack White, and this pedal allows me to recreate those great fuzz tones in his songs. Highly recommend this pedal.

I always use a clean tone… However I was asked to put some Eddie Isley down for a friend so a big muff through a phaser is instant Isley Brothers Well pleased…

I've had a troubled history with fuzz pedals but I really like this one. I bought a cheap mini pedal a few years ago but it clamps down into full compression in a very unmusical way when I play my main guitars through it. I tried the Big Muff on a bit on a whim and was really impressed by its dynamic responsiveness to guitar volume settings and picking attack. The controls have a fairly wide sweep making it quite a versatile little pedal. I'm docking one star because I feel that it could have a bit more volume. This may well be a non-issue for other users because it could be due to my signal chain and I have to confess a weird (i.e. ridiculous) fixation with having loads of (unused) volume on tap *just in case*. It's silly, don't be like that. The Nano Big Muff is a fine pedal, it delivers what you'd expect from a fuzz box, it does 'that sound' really well and is versatile enough to approximate guitar sounds from different genres and decades (Cramps, Sabbath, L7 - all there). Have fun!
