At the top end of Takamine's G-series are guitars like this GY93. This top class guitar has Takamine's parlour-like New Yorker body shape, a style that has become resoundingly popular in recent years. The New Yorker has a small body (still full size scale though) and is particularly portable: it's a very playable guitar too with it's 12" radius neck and extremely comfortable body design.
The top is made from solid Spruce to bring character and liveliness to the sound: this guitar is also surprisingly loud given its dimensions! The back is particularly beautiful: it is made of two pieces of Rosewood flanking a lovely piece of Quilted Maple! It is a fantastic and classic design that really elevates the visual appeal of the guitar. Along with that, binding on the neck and headstock meets multi-ply binding on the body for an even greater appearance. Gold and Black tuners and a high gloss finish complete the distinguished look.
Players planning on gracing the stage can do so in style with this Takamine: not only will it look great on stage, it'll sound great too with the built in TK-40D pickup and preamp. This unit has a panel built into the upper shoulder of the guitar which gives you a tuner, a 3-band EQ, a gain control, a notch filter (for getting rid of troublesome feedback frequencies) and an EQ bypass control. This is loads of power and control right at your fingertips, something every performer can appreciate. We think this guitar will appeal to fingerpicking troubadours and fans of blues and roots music.
