What we say:

The Keeley Compresser has become a byword in quality tone. It’s such a popular pedal (throughout its various guises) that we frequently sell out of out our shipments! It seems Keeley cannot make them quick enough.

Compression is a relatively difficult ‘effect’ to talk about since the more you notice it, the less it’s really doing its job. A great compressor pedal like this will expand the frequency and harmonic content of each note; it will bring up quieter notes and soothe down louder ones so that your levels are more coherent without sounding flat. Keeley are experts at this. They make your guitar parts sound more ‘produced’ and lively. It’s such a useful pedal to have on your board, no matter how clean or distorted you like to get.

This ‘Plus’ model has a useful ‘Release’ switch to compensate for the higher output of humbuckers. They typically compress a little more anyway and too much from the pedal can take the life out of your playing. This switch ensures that humbuckers stay true and dynamic sounding.

The ‘Blend’ control allows you to distinguish between manipulating the sustain and the peaks of the notes. You don’t always need the sustain and it’s very useful to be able to keep your notes smoothed out and produced while also dialling back on the sustain.

This is one of those pedals you buy and instantly wonder to yourself why you didn’t buy it ten years ago! It’s simply extremely high quality and extremely useful. You may well find it becoming an integral part of your tone: one of those pedals you switch on and leave on.

The Keeley Compressor, unless you are using it, you wouldnt realise you benifit from it. It adds sustain it holds the note with clarity. It has a switch so the unit can handle humbuckers as well as single coils.
