What we say:

At A Glance:

The ESP E-II HORIZON FR-7 Black is a high quality Japanese made monster of a guitar. One of the few 7 string guitars on the market to feature an Original Floyd Rose, this ESP also adds a neck-through construction, EMG 707 active pickups, Schaller straplocks and Gotoh locking tuners to it's high specification.

Features We Love:

Construction

Featuring an alder body paired with a slender three-piece maple neck with neck-through construction. The ebony fretboard hosts 24 extra-jumbo frets that aid fast and fluid playing.

Pickups

The go-to 7 string pickups since 2001. The EMG 707 active pickups eliminate the muddy low end and promote a rich harmonic character that sounds beautiful on clean and overdriven tones.

Floyd Rose Tremolo

The 7 string Original Floyd Rose locks your strings down and allows for microtonal adjustments. Great for executing tasteful vibrato and extreme divebombs without drifting out of tune.

Highlights:

  • Suits a wide range of playing styles
  • Original Floyd Rose Tremolo
  • EMG Active Pickups

Overall Rating 5/5 (2 reviews)

INCREDIBLE guitar. I've played various Ibanez guitars my whole life (currently, a Jem is my main axe), so have been used to thin/flat necks and flat fretboards. I wanted a 7 string, but Ibanez didn't really offer anything that I was attracted to. So I took a chance on this ESP. Was a little wary that it has a much thicker neck (which it has), and a much lower fretboard radius, so obviously less flat and more of a curve to it. However, it's somehow still a very fast neck, despite its chunkier size, and plays like a dream. Build quality across the entire guitar is flawless. EMG 707s sound beautiful. Nice hard case, too!
