What we say:
At A Glance:
The PRS SE Hollowbody Standard Fire Red Burst is reliable professional level instrument at an affordable price. Aside from a center block of mahogany this is a fully hollow instrument, with vintage voiced pickups and a suitably thick vintage feeling neck. Combined with with the reliable PRS hardware that effectively transfers resonance and vibration throughout the instrument, you have a great sounding hollow body that doesn't break the bank.
Features We Love:
58/15 S pickups
The first two numbers of the pickups name indicate the year that the original pickup came out. The last two digits denote what year that pickup design was reissued with modern enhancements. The pickups mounted in this guitar are based on the pickups from the late 1950's which many consider a "golden age" of tone. Although pickups from this era are notorious for their variation from winding to winding, these tolerance variations have been shrunk to unnoticeable differences in sonic output by utilising new computer programmable machinery. The vintage sound you expect is the sound you get thanks to PRS development and innovation.
Wide Fat Neck
The Wide Fat neck is ideal for players looking for a little more wood to fill the hand. The neck is where the largest portion of the playability of the guitar is decided. PRS have thought meticulously about the shape and feel of the necks they offer. The Wide Fat neck caters for the player that wants a modern instrument with a vintage vibe.
Adjustable Wraparound Bridge
A wrap-around bridge not only holds a visually pleasing sight to some, but it also has tangible benefits. It will allow you to bend a little further than a Tune-o-Matic bridge system by doing away with the excess string length behind the bridge. It also means no excess vibrations are coming from behind the bridge. Though they might be small, changes like this do affect the overall sound of the guitar. One significant improvement the PRS designed wrap-around system is it gives you the ability to adjust the intonation. This is a great advantage over more traditional wrap around setups.
