What we say:

At A Glance:

The A2.6C by Solar Guitars has been developed to offer optimised performance for the gigging metal guitarist. By using the finest design, tonewoods and custom Seymour Duncan pickups, Solar have created a fantastic looking and ergonomic guitar that's built to sound great and keep sounding great, no matter how hard you play.

Features We Love:

Type A Series

Solar Guitar founder and YouTube celebrity Ola Englund designed the Type A Series of guitars with gigging guitarists in mind. Combining decades of touring experience, he set out with the vision to create the most reliable and fluid feeling instrument possible for use on the road. With impenetrable tuning stability thanks to the fixed bridge and Solar tuners, an ergonomic one volume, tone and 5-way pickup selector configuration, 24 super jumbo frets and the awesome sounding high output Duncan Solar pickups, if the quest was to create the ultimate gigging machine for metal, we'd say that the mission's been accomplished!

All Access Neck Join

Unlike some classic guitars, the A-Series features a contoured cutaway where the neck joins the body which fits your hand as you reach up to the highest frets. The freedom to reach the highest frets without having to reach around the heel of the join matches the rest of the guitar's design that promotes fast and effortless playability.

Duncan Solar

Englund collaborated with Seymour Duncan to develop a pickup specifically for Solar Guitars. The Duncan Solar pickups are exclusive to Solar Guitars and compliment the guitar's mahogany body perfectly to create a tone with a tight low end and clear highs. Of course, they sound amazing overdriven, but Ola knew it was important for them to clean up nicely and the result is a pickup set that's versatile over a wide range of dynamics.

Highlights:

  • The ultimate metal guitar!
  • The fixed bridge offers great tuning stability and is key to the guitar's great sustain

Kenneth H. - 19/5/2021

Great guitar as advertised

susan d. - 11/2/2021

Good guitar with nice sounding pickups, if slightly muddy on distortion, but nothing that can't be cleaned up with adjusting effects. Neck is great, not flat like an ibanez wizard but gives a bit more of a classic neck feel. Overall a good guitar for the money and on par with offerings from Jackson and ibanez while being out of the ordinary
