The internet really is a wonderful place for guitarists. It's easy to take for granted just how incredible a resource it is for learning new songs, techniques or even just checking out our favourite players. Remember when tab books were the holy grail!? Times truly have changed and there's never been a better time to pick up the instrument and have a go. Recently, Fender have set up a pretty amazing option for those either trying to get started or improve their playing called Fender Play and we've been really impressed with what's available.
Fender Play is the brand's new learning tool for guitarists and we have to say, there's nothing else quite like it. The site gives you access to an enormous amount of video lessons, teaching you how to play all of your favourite songs from contemporary artists to all-time favourites. However, it also offers a structured approach to playing guitar in a similar way an actual teacher would encourage you to learn. It genuinely doesn't matter if you've just picked up the instrument for the first time or if you've been rocking for years, there's loads to get stuck into here at every level.
That said, we see this as a true stand out for beginners in particular, as it allows them to really get to grips with their guitar in the most sensible and straightforward way possible. The team of teachers they've got involved in this are fabulous and the online format takes a bit of pressure off new players who'd maybe feel more pressure learning face to face. On top of video tutorials, there are handy blogs covering all things guitar, including tips, playlists, guides and more. Fender have clearly put a ton of effort into this and the result is incredible - Fender Play may well be the most comprehensive way to learn online!
