Nicknamed “The Workhorse,” it was first introduced in 1942 and has been a popular choice among guitar players worldwide ever since. It is considered the most widely recorded guitar in history and has been used onstage by countless artists across a wide range of musical genres. The J-45 50s Faded follows the traditional J-45 tonewood formula, with a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid mahogany for the back and sides. The 24 3/4” scale neck is also mahogany. It features a comfortable Rounded profile and is capped with an unbound rosewood fretboard, equipped with 20 standard frets, and adorned with simple mother-of-pearl dot position marker inlays. The belly-up rosewood bridge is fitted with a bone saddle and TUSQ® bridge pins. The nut is also made of bone, and the headstock is equipped with smooth-turning Gotoh® tuning machines featuring white buttons for a vintage-inspired appearance. Now available with a faded satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that further accentuates the guitar’s undeniable vintage vibe, the J-45 50s Faded is equipped with a modern L.R. Baggs™ VTC under-saddle pickup and a built-in preamp.
