About Gig Ready Gear
Gig Ready Gear is essential if you're playing a live show! Having the right equipment is just as important as being well rehearsed, as it can make things run much more smoothly and allow you to focus on the performance rather than technical issues.
Before playing a show it's really important to think about what you will need. If you want to move around a lot while playing you may need a wireless system. If you're playing with a live drummer you will need an amp that is loud enough to keep up! If you're using multiple effects pedals you will make setting up much easier if you have a pedalboard with them all attached and wired up with a quality power supply. If you're setting up your own show you may need a PA, microphones and monitoring. Clip-on tuners or pedal tuners will allow the full band to get in tune without having to make the audience listen to you tune up. Fortunately we sell all these things to help your next show a success!
It's equally important to think about how you'll get everything to the gig. A good guitar case is essential for protecting your instrument - if you're taking public transport a gig bag you can wear on your back will be invaluable, while a hard case may be better when loading up a car or van with lots of other things.
As things often break and get lost or left behind at shows its always a good idea to have spares of things like cables, capos, strings (and a string winder to get them on quickly!) in your gig bag.
Why Do I Need Gig Ready Gear?
- Tools to make playing gigs less stressful
- Confidence in your equipment means less to worry about
- Safely transport your equipment to and from gigs
- Spares to make sure you can play a show even if you lose something or it breaks
