A Closer Look: TOURTECH Drums

Been on the hunt for a new digital drum kit? It's tough to know where to start with so many names on the market, but we thought we'd direct your attention to a brand that's really impressed us - TOURTECH. Their kits are extremely well priced for the quality they offer, catering to everyone from the absolute beginner looking to learn, to the more advanced players after a full mesh kit that won't break the bank. An electronic kit is quite a drastic change for some drummers and although it can take a bit of getting used to, there are so many benefits to owning one, whether it's being able to practice using headphones, switching up your sounds, or just giving the roadie an easier job when you take it to a venue! We've looked at a couple of our favourites from TOURTECH below to give you somewhere to get started:

From the compact, set up and fold down design of the TT-12S and TT-12SM models, to the more substantial TT-22M unit, there's something for everyone.

Every kit in the line is chock-full of high-quality samples, with 250 different voices on the TT-12S and TT-12SM, and an impressive 458 voices on the TT-22M model. These are spread out over a sizeable choice of preset kits, as well as providing you with the ability to build your own custom kits from scratch and save them into the 15 user banks for quick recall later!

There's a level of connectivity on these kits that you just wouldn't normally find at this price point, with every one of them featuring 1/4" Stereo Output connectors, as well as a separate 3.5mm headphone output, Aux In for jamming along to your favourite artists from an external audio source, and MIDI In/Out via 5-Pin and USB which can be used for triggering external instruments and software such as samples within your DAW (Ableton, Logic Pro etc) and programs such as EZdrummer.

There really is a setup for every player, whether you're looking for a portable drum kit, a full mesh kit with a huge array of sounds, or a controller for getting those grooves right within your software setup, TOURTECH have a kit for you!
