There are two channels available here. The clean channel simply has a volume and a three-position Bright switch to bring a selection of expansive cleans with plenty of headroom to begin with and a more compressed, slightly hairy sound at top volume.

The gain channel is tremendous: full of dirt, chewy thickness and harmonic richness. You’ll get plenty of mileage out of this channel by merely experimenting with the volume and gain levels.

There is also, for the first time on a Friedman amp, a built in DI with cab simulation for sending to an audio interface or front-of-house. This amp has loads to recommend it, not least one of the best high gain sounds we’ve ever gotten from such a small amp. This amp provides more clean headroom than the Runt 20 and the same superb gain.
