The STANDARD SERIES is really the foundation of the entire line of Martin guitars. Historically every instrument we build today has evolved, in some degree, from these classic Martin designs, especially the Dreadnought. The large “Dreadnought” sized body, originated by Frank H. Martin and Oliver Hunt in 1916, is the most widely imitated guitar model in the world. Since its introduction in 1931, the Martin D-28 has remained the standard by which all large-bodied, steel-stringed acoustic guitars are measured. Standard Series guitars feature solid wood top, back and sides, polished gloss finish and hand-fit dovetail neck attachment.

Body: 3 out of 5 - Instrument has been used and shows evidence of its life in the forms of checking, chips and other superficial wear and tear. Metal parts and hardware may be mildly tarnished or stained and cosmetically imperfect.
Neck: 4 out of 5 - The frets are in good order and the instrument plays cleanly and intonates accurately across the fingerboard.
Additional Information: This guitar shows signs of being used well, it has playing marks on the body and a chip in the binding on the rear of the guitar. There are also some chips/dents on the treble side edge of the headstock. The guitar still sounds beautiful and plays very easily, delivering classic Martin tone and quality.
This guitar has been restrung with D'Addario strings.
