About Modelling Amps
Modelling amps mean players no longer have to choose between quality and quantity for their guitar tone. Modelling Amps use Digital Signal Processing or ‘DSP’ for short. Digital modelling of classic amps is becoming more and more sophisticated every year. It is now possible to create dynamic and realistic digital models of iconic old valve amps.
These amps are ideal for every setting, from home practice to studio recording to live performance. Famous fans include Paul Gilbert, Pat Metheny, and Steve Morse.
Aside from the huge variety of sounds on offer, a major benefit of modelling amps is they no longer need to look like traditional amps. Instead, they are increasingly built into pedalboard formats. This allows players to switch between sounds with their feet mid-song.
Why Should I Choose a Modelling Amp?
- Quantity and quality of guitar tones
- Lightweight and portable
- Take the studio on stage
