About JHS Pedals
JHS Pedals were born in 2007 and founded by Joshua Heath Scott (hence JHS!) in Kansas City, Missouri out of a desire to create a stand out guitar pedals line in a sea overflowing with choices. JHS pedals first became known for their drive effects. More recently they have released the 3 Series of affordable effects pedals - proving you don’t have to spend big money to get boutique quality.
The Colour Box represented a real shift for JHS. This innovative unit attempted to replicate the fabled Neve style preamp in a stompbox pedal format. This was huge for many reasons. First and foremost as a way of replicating the early fuzzed-out ‘straight into the desk’ sounds of Beatles and Led Zeppelin records, but also more generally is a studio-grade preamp on stage. This is perfect as a DI for acoustic guitar, bass and keys. It also works well as an all-in-one boost, EQ and drive for an electric guitar into an amp.
JHS Pedals keep all production based in the USA with final assembly, testing and shipping all coming from their Kansas Headquarters to maintain their reputation for quality, and with the likes of John Mayer, Andy Timmons, Ed O'Brien, Beck, Matt Bellamy, and Billy Corgan among the many artists that use and love JHS pedals, their reputation is well deserved.
